Yondr Phone pouches - Phone Free RGS from September 2025

Mobile phones and/or any wearable, connected devices are not permitted to be used in school from 8.00am-3.05pm.

From September 2025 students in Years 7-11 have a lockable pouch in which to put their mobile phone and/or any wearable, connectable items during the course of the school day.

Yondr pouches can be purchased for £18 on ParentPay  Donations of any amount up to £18 can be made to support families with this cost

Here are a few reminders regarding the new Yondr system:

    • Unlocking/locking stations are open from 8am. We encourage students to arrive at school from this time to pouch their phone. Staff support this process and also have hand held devices to ensure that any queues are minimised.
    • We have staggered the end of the school day to ensure that the stations do not become too busy as students leave school.
    • Years 7,8 & 9 leave at 3.00pm and Years 10&11 at 3.05pm. Staff support the safe and controlled exit of students.
  • If a mobile phone and/or any wearable connectable items are seen or heard during the school day they will be confiscated and will need to be collected by a parent by 4pm.

The most asked question:

My child will not be bringing their phone to school for a temporary period of time. What should I do?

  • If a student has a Yondr pouch then our expectation is that their phone is brought to school each day and secured in their pouch.
  • If a student who usually brings a phone to school is not bringing it in for a temporary period of time (e.g the phone is lost/broken or  parents have confiscated the phone) we are asking that parents let the school know by emailing behavioursupportteam@redlandgreen.bristol.sch.uk to make us aware. This will mean that we do not need to meet with your child and perform a phone check. We will also not need to contact you.
  • If a student decides that they have now made the decision to NEVER bring a phone to school at all then we kindly ask that parents complete this form here to indicate that this is now the case.
